Are you ready to go wild this June?

Are you ready to go wild this June?

Find out why you should take The Wildlife Trusts' 30 Days Wild challenge!

How wild was June last year for you?

For the last few years I’ve taken part in The Wildlife Trusts' 30 Days Wild campaign. By the end of the first week, I’m hooked.

Challenging myself and others to complete a 'Random Act of Wildness' every day during June, and taking a moment to notice nature! It’s great fun and so fulfilling.

A random act of wildness is about making time to connect with nature around you, or doing something small to help wildlife.

It might include taking a barefoot walk in the grass, or setting the alarm clock early to hear the dawn chorus one morning, or if you’re feeling creative perhaps you could build a bug hotel.

The important thing is that each act is about experiencing, learning about or helping your local wildlife.

Acts that I’ve completed include making a hole in the fence to help hedgehogs; painting faces with mud and walking in the rain.

Each day is as different as you make it. It’s not onerous and can fit in with your everyday routine. Simply eating your lunch outside is a great way to add a touch of nature to your day. Importantly, the 30 Days Wild challenge is fun – and everyone can get involved!

During the month you will challenge yourself to do something wild every day – it can be big or small.

Research shows that people who take part feel healthier, happier and more connected to nature. The challenge is fun and good for you!
