Future Nature’s team of qualified, licensed and experienced ecologists undertake ecological services, surveys and assessment reports, for business and organisations ranging from Local Authorities, Universities and Utility Companies to Developers, Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) businesses and private land owners.
We are able to support clients’ ecological needs at all stages of their project. At concept stage we use desk studies, GIS mapping, aerial photography and walkover surveys to advise clients on ecological constraints, risks and liabilities, as well as opportunities for ecological enhancement and species protection.
Future Nature provides licensed surveys for the full range of European Protected Species (EPS), including those which occur in our region, such as bats, badgers, dormice, great crested newt, otter and white clawed crayfish. Specialist elements include DNA and eDNA sampling for appropriate species such as great crested newts, with rapid turnaround of data and results.
For Planning stages our advice will provide full and independent reports on the site ecology, with appropriate guidance for submission to the Local Planning Authority, to enable a smooth process once plans are submitted. In line with the new Environment Act 2021 and existing National Planning Policy Framework 2019, if required Future Nature can calculate Biodiversity Net Gain using the DEFRA Metrics, provide a detailed net gain report and provide Habitat Management Plans with compliance and monitoring checks, to ensure long-term benefits for nature.
