About the event

Join us to build a wooden nest box for your garden birds from a pre-cut FSC certified exterior grade plywood kit. A wonderful way to introduce children to birds and learn some basic hand skills.

We’ll advise you about the best place to put up your new bird box and how to look after it. If you are unable to put your box up at home but would like to build one then please consider gifting to someone or you are welcome to donate to us and we will put it up on one of our reserves.

£15 per nesting box. 1 box suggested per family. If your children would like to make one each please purchase multiple tickets.

Please be aware:

• Children must be accompanied by an adult (max one per child) who is able to encourage and help them with the activities.
• This event is for children 7 years and over, no younger siblings or additional adults please.
• Please arrive on time for your chosen slot. The session lasts approx. 1hr and starts from the Barn (Please allow time to walk up from the visitor Centre approx. 10 mins).
• The activity takes place outdoors and we recommend appropriate clothing for all weathers.
