About the event

BBOWT aims to empower more local groups to take action for nature on their patch. At this interactive session we will help you develop your skills and confidence in leading groups.

This workshop will cover:

  • Leadership qualities
  • Motivations and leadership styles
  • The leader’s role
  • Health & Safety
  • Planning & leading a group
  • Tools talks
  • Challenging situations

The learning objectives for the day are:

  • Understand volunteers’ motivations
  • Understanding group dynamics and the roles group members can play
  • Learning to delegate
  • Understanding the importance of planning
  • Understanding and applying risk assessments and other safety processes
  • Increased confidence in leading groups

This event is free to book onto but if you can't make it on the day please let us know!
