About the event

A junk journal is a fun and creative way to make a type of book, made with repurposed items (junk mail, used tickets, stamps, bits of fabric, scraps of lace, old buttons) or found items (dried leaves and flowers, feathers, shells, twigs, moss and bark) although bought or made papers and materials are fun to incorporate too.

There are no rules as to how a junk journal should be made, how it should look or how it is to be used. Therefore, a journal is a personal decision whether it will be used for decorative purposes, for writing within or storing mementos as examples. A recent trend is to use them as a memory journal to write your own life journey and what you want to achieve in the future.

Working in collaboration with artist Mel Wyatt of Lemanie Limes, we bring you fun and creative nature inspired junk journal workshops here at BBOWT. With this in mind, and no experience needed, Mel will guide you through various techniques such as folding papers to make items in the journal, collaging, using inks, paints, cutting and gluing to make your very own beautiful journal with pictorial themes of nature, wildlife and woodland.

All materials are provided. Should you have materials you wish to incorporate in your journal or for inspiration, by all means bring them with you!

As we are using craft knives this workshop is only suitable from 16 years up.
