About the event

Join warden Phil Townsend to explore the autumnal wildlife of this spectacular reserve featuring ancient quarry workings and surrounding Hazel coppice, scrub and Beech woodland.

As well as its famous displays of orchids in midsummer, the Ragpits have been revealing an interesting range of fungi over the last few years. This leisurely guided walk is timed to search for grassland fungi, including waxcaps and pinkgills, and woodland specialists in the surrounding habitat. There are some steep slopes and paths may be slippery after heavy rain. Stout footwear essential with clothing suitable for the forecast.
