About the event

Autumn is an exciting and beautiful time to be outdoors exploring. Join us for a fun filled day on the nature reserve and discover some of the secrets of autumn - why do the leaves change colour? What happens to leaves after they fall?  Our education team will support you to complete a range of cross-curricular activities. There will be a selection of self-led activities including hunting for fungus and making an autumn mobile to take home, and don't forget to sign up for our Wonderful Worms Workshop when you arrive! Our learning team and their wriggly friends will show you a whole new world, including worm charming, taking a close up look and making your own wormery to take home. Pop into the centre for a break from the action in our quiet reading space and discover what's in the sensory tray this month.

This event is suitable for children aged 4-11 years with an accompanying adult. There will be a range of activities with links across the curriculum, and a lovely chance to meet other local home educating families in a beautiful outdoor setting. We also have a lovely indoor space. Bring a picnic! We run home educators days on a bimonthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list.

We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.

Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
