About the event

The birds are busy finding food, keeping warm and getting ready to build their nests. Come join us on the nature reserve for a day of cross-curricular bird themed activities, and find out how you can give the birds a helping hand - including learning to use tools to make your own log bird feeder to take home. There will be a mixture of self-led activities and activities led by our education team. Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather. We'll have the stove lit and a few indoor activities to warm up with. Bring a picnic to enjoy at the picnic benches. Hot drinks and squash provided.

The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along so long as you can still support your older child with the activities. In winter the site can be very muddy and flooded so carriers are better than buggies). We run home educators days on a bimonthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list.

We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.

Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.

Price

£8 per head & booking fee (please buy tickets for children aged 4 and up. Accompanying adult does not need a ticket).
