About the event

Most of us recognise a tree by its leaves, but what about in winter when many trees are leafless? Come along to our beautiful nature reserve and learn to identify a wide range of trees in the winter. This course is suitable for beginners up to those with an intermediate level knowledge. Our visiting expert, James Warren, will cover the basics of tree identification, develop your botanical skills and understanding of terminology, as well as discussing tree hybrids and potential tree diseases and damage to trees. Perfect for anyone interested in finding out a bit more about the wonderful world of trees. The course will consist of a theory section in our education centre followed by a practical ID walk around the nature reserve where we have a wide variety of species for you to test your skills on. Tea and cake included (please let us know any dietary requirements on booking). You may like to bring a notebook and pencil.
