Home Educators' Day: Life in the Pond - Sutton Courtenay, Tuesday 11 March
About the event
Have you ever peeped into a pond? There is a whole fascinating world waiting to be discovered. Spend the day exploring the nature reserve and learning about the amazing creatures that live in our ponds and stream. Be sure to book a pond-dipping time slot when you arrive. There will be a mixture of self led activities and activities led by our learning team.
Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather including wellies as the site can still be quite wet this time of year. Our quiet reading and sensory tray space will be open in the classroom too. Bring a picnic to enjoy at the picnic benches. Hot drinks and squash provided.
The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along so long as you can still support your older child with the activities. In winter the site can be very muddy and flooded so carriers are better than buggies). We run home educators days on a bimonthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list.
Please note, the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.
