Radish Harvest by Anne Jackson
Home Educators' Day: Plants and People - Sutton Courtenay, Tuesday 13 May
About the event
Spring is here and the nature reserve is bursting with new growth. Roots and branches, fronds and flowers - you'll find them all here. Come discover the wonderful world of plants and why they matter to YOU! Join other home educating families for a day of fun outdoor learning with a mixture of self-led activities and activities led by our learning team including trails, helping in our wildlife garden and joining in with a live story telling session.
Most activities will be outdoors - please come dressed for the weather. Our quiet reading and sensory tray space will be open in the classroom too. Bring a picnic to enjoy at the picnic benches. Hot drinks and squash provided.
The day is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years with an accompanying adult (it's ok to bring younger siblings along so long as you can still support your older child with the activities. In winter the site can be very muddy and flooded so carriers are better than buggies). We run home educators days on a bimonthly basis, keep an eye on the website for more dates or ask to join our mailing list.
Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.
We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.
