About the event

This short course is aimed at newcomers to the field with an interest in invertebrates and a desire to explore our reserve.  All kit provided.

Over the course of this workshop, you can expect to:

Learn collection techniques of Berkshire's invertebrate fauna.

Learn how to differentiate between different insect orders.

Learn microscope use to identify distinct morphological features.

As elements of this workshop will be inside our education centre.  Please read and adhere to the following guidance:

  • If you are ill please do not attend the course.
  • Please ensure you book a ticket before attending.
  • Most activities will take place outdoors.  

WHAT TO BRING:
Dress for the weather in clothes and sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting a bit grubby. Please check the weather forecast and bring waterproofs, warm layers if necessary.  Ideally cover legs and arms as we will be working in some long grass areas.

Please bring packed lunch if you wish to stay on site after the workshop has finished. We will leave garden and carpark open until 2pm.
